Online Sign-up for the Fall Term of SUN school is now open! Registration is open from 9/16 to 9/27. The term is from October 7- November 21, Monday-Thursday.

Classes offered include flag football, Pokemon, zoology, basketball, soccer, STEM, Stratego Club, movie club, and more!

Space is limited. Participation is not guaranteed.

Each student will receive a paper confirmation letter or a waitlist letter by Friday, September 27

Mission

IRCO SUN School’s Mission is to enrich, empower and inspire all stakeholders to be forces of change for
student achievement and community development at Ventura Park. We are committed to creating
inclusive systems that make educational success available to all.

Vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant community center at Ventura Park. By serving as a positive force for our
School Community we will harness collective efforts in order to enrich, empower and inspire our
immigrant and refugee families and the community at large.

Extended Day

SUN Extended-Day is an after-school opportunity for students to build upon what they learn in school.
Students practice their academic skills while having fun, making friends, expressing themselves
creatively, engaging with staff in smaller groups, and more.

2024-2025 Dates

Fall: October 7 – November 22, 2024
Winter: January 13 – March 14, 2024
Spring: April 7 – May 22, 2025

Play and Learn

Play and Learn is a free educational program for parents and 0-5 year
olds. See Flyer for more details.
Classes are held by Ms. Claryssa and Ms. Irina (Ventura’s Family
Coordinator and Family Resource Navigator). If you have any questions,
please feel free to contact Ms. Claryssa 503-984-2812.

Food and Other Assistance

If your family needs help with food, utilities, or other essential items, please contact Irina Belikova, the
family resource navigator, at irinab@irco.org. We may be able to help! Our Fresh Food Pantry occurs
every Monday from 3:15 to 4:15 pm in the covered basketball court in the back of the school. Please
bring a reusable shopping bag, and come pick up some fresh produce and other food items!

Please fill out this Family Request for Support Form if you need support for your student or your family.
We cannot guarantee that we have the resources to meet your needs, but we will do the best we can! If
you have a question about something relating to your student or the school but you don’t know who to
ask, please use this form and we will get your question to the right person!
